One of my proudest moments: an award for Excellence in Teaching from RISD-CE.
I love to teach. I got a degree in elementary education from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, and taught fourth and fifth grades in Smyrna, Delaware for a year before I went to Rhode Island School of Design for a degree in illustration.
While I worked as a freelance illustrator, I did many school residencies in Rhode Island through the Rhode Island Council for the Arts.

I continued to freelance when I began teaching
Children's Book Illustration
for continuing education at Rhode Island School of Design. I've been teaching a summer class there for 18 years.

More recently, I've worked as the adviser for the
Children's Book Illustration certificate program at RISD-CE.
I also teach CBI 2 and The Book Dummy. The students are adults, highly motivated, and a joy to work with.
